Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • ½ cup bacon bits
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ cup yellow onions (about ½ of onion - chopped)
  • ½ cup blue cheese crumbles (I used Stilton)
  • 8 figs (halved or quartered)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 °F
    1. Thaw and roll out 1 sheet of puff pastry into tart pan or baking sheet. Return to refrigerator to stay cold.
    2. Peel and chop ½ of onion. Add to a skillet with butter and cook on medium heat until onions are translucent. Ca. 10 minutes.
    3. Pour caramelized onions over tart crust. In the same skillet quickly heat the bacon bits. Pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess fat. Pour over onions and crust.
    4. Crumble blue cheese over the tart. Cut a few figs in halves or quarters, then arrange them on top of the tart.
    5. Bake until crust puffs up, and edges are golden brown. About 20 minutes
    6. Drizzle some honey over the tart. Enjoy warm!
