Bring a "WOW" Factor to the table with this Black Forest inspired Trifle. Fudgy brownies infused with kirsch layered with fresh cherry filling and a scrumtous vanilla mascarpone cream!
Preheat Oven to 325° F1. In a medium size bowl, combine brownie mix, oil, water, egg & Kirsch (if using).2. Fill brownie batter evenly into a 9 x 13 inch (with parchment paper lined) baking pan.3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely. Invert brownies onto a cutting bord and cut into small cubes.4. Prepare the filling: In a sauce pan combine cherries, sugar, water, lemon juice and cornstarch. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat stirring frequently. Remove from heat. Cool before using.5. Pour heavy cream into a bowl of an electric mixer. Add sugar and vanilla extract. Cream mixture until stiff peaks form.6. In a seperate bowl cream the mascarpone cheese until smooth. Add whipped cream to the mascarpone and gently blend ingredients together.7. Using individual glasses or a trifle bowl, layer brownie cubes/crumbles, mascarpone cream and cherry filling. Repeat layers. Top with fresh cherries and chocolate shavings right befor serving. Keep chilled until ready to serve.
