Blueberry Cherry Crumble
Ingredients
For the Blueberry Cherry Filling:
- 2 Β½ cups blueberries
- 2 Β½ cups cherries pitted (fresh or frozen)
- 3 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoon lemon juice , freshly squeezed
- 3 tablespoon all-purpose flour
For the crumble:
- Β½ cup butter - unsalted-sweet cream (1 stick)
- Β½ cup brown sugar
- 1 cup all - purpose flour
- Β½ cup rolled oats
- Β½ cup pecan nuts chopped
- finely grated peel of lemon & orange (just a little bit, so it doesn't overpower the rest)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- β teaspoon pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 Β°F1. Mix the berries with the sugar, lemon juice, and flour. Pour into a baking dish.2. In a small bowl, add butter (at room temperature), but cold butter works too. Add brown sugar, flour, oats, nuts, cinnamon, a pinch of salt, and a little bit of finely grated lemon & orange peel. Knead the mixture until crumbles form. Then sprinkle generously over the berries.3. Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes.Serve with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, or by itself, hot or cold!
