My Broccoli salad is a combination of crisp broccoli florets, red onion, apple, cranberries, bacon, toasted almonds, sunflower seeds and cheddar cheese. Topped with a creamy mayonnaise sour cream dressing. It's so easy to make, and is a perfect addition to picnics, barbecues, potlucks, and holiday menus. Serve with your favorite grilled meats.

A simple combination of ingredients come together to make this delicious salad. You will love that this recipe is also easy to change up with what you have at hand, or add seasonal ingredients. - Honey Mustard Roasted Nuts (optional), or use plain slivered almonds, and sunflower seeds. On a small baking sheet, combine the almond, sunflower seeds, olive oil, honey, mustard, salt, paprika, garlic, and onion powder. Bake at 300 degrees F. circa 20 minutes.

Broccoli Salad
- 1 broccoli head (about 4 cups of bite-sized florets)
- 6 slices bacon (crisp-cooked and chopped)
- β cup red onion chopped
- Β½ cup dried cranberries
- Β½ cup cheddar cheese (cut into small cubes)
- Β½ apple (I used Honeycrisp, cut into small cubes)
Honey Mustard Roasted Nuts (optional) or use plain toasted
- β cup almonds (toasted)
- 3 tablespoon sunflower seeds (toasted)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- Β½ teaspoon onion powder
- ΒΌ teaspoon garlic powder
- Β½ teaspoon salt
- Β½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Broccoli Salad Dressing
- ΒΎ cup mayonaise
- ΒΌ cup sour cream
- ΒΌ teaspoon sea salt
- β teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoon honey
Instructions
- 1. Honey Mustard roasted Nuts (optional), or use plain slivered almonds, and sunflower seeds. On a small baking sheet, combine the almond, sunflower seeds, olive oil, honey, mustard, salt, paprika, garlic and onion powder. Bake at 300 degree F. circa 20 minutes.2. In a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bacon and cook until crispy, about 8 minutes. Transfer bacon onto a paper towel-lined plate to drain. set aside.3. While the bacon is cooking, slice off all the broccoli florets into bite-sized pieces. Add them to a large mixing bowl along with the red onion, apple, cheese, dried cranberries, almonds, and sunflower seeds. 4. In a small bowl make the dressing by mixing together the mayonaise, sour cream, vinegar, honey, salt and pepper. Add the dressing to the mixing bowl and stir until everything is well combined. Garnish with the reserved bacon and almonds. Serve cold or room temperature.
