Black Forest Trifle with Mascarpone Cream

Bring a "WOW" Factor to the table with this Black Forest inspired Trifle. Fudgy brownies infused with kirsch layered with fresh cherry filling and a scrumtous vanilla mascarpone cream!

Ingredients
FOR THE BROWNIE:
- 1 20 oz pkg. Giradelli triple chocolate brownie mix
- ⅓ cup Vegetable Oil
- ⅓ cup Water
- 1 Egg
- 1 tablespoon Kirsch (Cherry Liquor) -OPTIONAL
FOR THE CHERRY FILLING:
- 6 cups Fresh or Frozen Sweet Cherries
- ½ cup Water
- 2 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
- ⅔ cup Sugar
- 4 teaspoon Cornstarch
FOR THE MASCARPONE CREAM:
- 8 oz (1 Container) Mascarpone Cheese
- 4 teaspoon Confectioners Sugar
- 3 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Preheat Oven to 325° F1. In a medium size bowl, combine brownie mix, oil, water, egg & Kirsch (if using).2. Fill brownie batter evenly into a 9 x 13 inch (with parchment paper lined) baking pan.3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely. Invert brownies onto a cutting bord and cut into small cubes.4. Prepare the filling: In a sauce pan combine cherries, sugar, water, lemon juice and cornstarch. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat stirring frequently. Remove from heat. Cool before using.5. Pour heavy cream into a bowl of an electric mixer. Add sugar and vanilla extract. Cream mixture until stiff peaks form.6. In a seperate bowl cream the mascarpone cheese until smooth. Add whipped cream to the mascarpone and gently blend ingredients together.7. Using individual glasses or a trifle bowl, layer brownie cubes/crumbles, mascarpone cream and cherry filling. Repeat layers. Top with fresh cherries and chocolate shavings right befor serving. Keep chilled until ready to serve.
